Loki wandered for hours. His little paws aching. Where was his twoleg place? He had been lost since this morning. Now the sun was high in the sky. Loki felt like he was walking around in cirlces, never getting anywhere. He tried staying under cover, in case something found him that wasn't so friendly. His mother warned him about giant birds that snatched up little kits and took them far away.
He saw something in the distance. It looked like an old building. It was large and sang out hope. Now Loki didn't have to worry about finding a safe place to sleep! He ran, ignoring the pain in his paws.
When he reached the Horseplace, he noticed the stable door was cracked. He slipped inside, the faint scent of horses and other animals barely detectable. His eyes grew accustomed to the darkness. His belly grumbled. He was so hungry he hurt. A rank scent made its way to his nose, and he followed it. There, in the middle of the stable, was a rotting rat. It looked to have been dead for a day or two. Loki felt his stomach twist in disgust. He had heard of some cats eating that, but he didn't know if he could stomach it. He wanted his kitten chow, the kind that was shaped like fish. He missed his home and began to wail. Why did he ever leave? Why did he have to go exploring? Now he had to pay for it.

SNowfeather had been out walking, thinking about a lot of things, and then eaven more things. She didn't really pay any attention to where she was going, but she ended up near the Horseplace. It wasn't a big deal where she went, she knew this place like the back of her paw. Just then, she came across the scent of a little kitten. Sniffing along the ground, she figured out the little one was lost. She didn't like leaving kits to wander around on their own, so she followed the trail, stopping at the door of one of the big Two-Leg places that were around the Horseplace, "Are you okay, little one?"
