Dog Attack -O-

Ink nodded her head and sniffed over the other cat. This Dovestar didn't seam to be wounded really other than a few scratches and mild bite marks. "Dovestar seams to be fine other than a few minor cuts." She wasn't sure what to do and wished Nox was there. She picked the other cat up and waited for Dovestar to help her.

Dovestar let the strange cat look her over. "Jayfeather go ahead will come after you Cherrypaw was badly injured have you treated her already? She was the first to be attacked by the dog while gathering herbs. Luckily Dusk and Snowfeather found her in time." With that she grabbed her daughter and together with the rouge headed towards camp.

[Stern]

Jayfeather nodded slightly, in response to Ink's diagnosis, and then his brow furrowed, "She told me you needed help, so I came here first. I'm going to head back, then." He padded back, hurrying over the ground he knew well enough by now. He found Cherrypaw lying limp. "Oh, StarClan, no!" He remembered the one time he had brought another cat back, and he decided to try it. He lay down next to the body of his apprentice and let himself drift into the dream world. He soon found her, with Firestar and Leafpool. He hissed when he saw his mother, but otherwise remained calm, "Cherrypaw, come, follow me."

Firestar smiled when he saw Jayfeather. "Jayfeather it is her time. She was meant to find you. It was her destiny. Her job is over you will have a new apprentice soon. Spottedkit will be a great medicine cat just like she used to be."

Leafpool felt saddened seeing the hatred that still burned in her son's eyes. "Jayfeather let her go, we will take care of her."

Cherrypaw looked from Jayfeather to Firestar and Leafpool. She was conflicted on what she should do. Hearing Firestar she gasped. Only the other day had she shown her the medicine cats den on Dovestar's orders. "What about the prophecy that I received a moon ago? Wasn't that for me?"

Leafpool draped her tail over Cherrypaw's shoulder. "No it is for Fogkit. Dovestar will know when it is time to tell her the prophecy."

Firestar padded forward frowning. "Cherrypaw if you go back you will never fully heal you are badly injured and if you go back now you will only join us again in a moon or two. It is your destiny. Just like it was Leafpool's destiny to fall in love with Crowfeather and have Crowfeather and his siblings."

[Stern]

Jayfeather sighed and dipped his head, "If it is the wish of StarClan, I guess it must be so. Cherrypaw, go, and be happy. I'll make sure nothing happens to Fogkit and Spottedkit." He stepped back, then remmbered something he had wanted to say, "You are a very beautiful cat, you know." He smiled mysteriously, he could see in his dreams, of course.

As he heard what Firestar said lastly, he hissed. The words cut deeper than the loss of Cherrypaw, they ripped open an old wound that had never completely healed. He didn't doubt Firestar's words, "It might have been better if they had been informed[/b], though." With that, he turned and stalked away, back to the waking world. He still couldn't cope with what he perceived to be his mother's betrayal.

He woke and blinked his once again sightless eyes, "She's gone." Just then, he remembered another thing that Firestar had said. He had heard of Spottedleaf, of course, had even talked to her. Was Spottedkit a soul reborn, like Cinderpelt had been? Even if she was, it wouldn't do to tell her yet. He would talk to Dovefeather, though, and ask for the kit as his apprentice.

Firestar watched Jayfeather leave than turned to Cherrypaw. "Welcome home Cherrypaw fallow us and we shall show you around.

Leafpool watched where her sun disappeared even after he was long gone before turning to Firestar and fallowing him.

Cherrypaw froze in place and looked back to where Jayfeather where. She didn't want to die right now she wanted to live. She was only seven moons old. It couldn't be her time. Tears streamed down her face and ran after Jayfeather.

Firestar turned around and sighed. "Cherrypaw your destiny was to find Jayfeather so he could teach Spottedkit to be the next medicine cat. You full filled your destiny. Your clan will be fine and you'll be able to watch over them."

Cherrypaw swirled around, "I WANT TO LIVE! I'M ONLY A PAW BARELY SEVEN MOONS AND YOU EXPECT ME TO STAY HERE." She sighed and shook her head. "Is there no way I can go back?"

Firestar looked at Leafpool, "there is a way but your clan will never know your who you are and you will forget everything just like Spottedkit did. If you truly want to live you can be reborn in the next litter."


Finally Dovefeather reached camp with the help of the rouge Ink. "You may go now if you please." She carried her daughter into the medicine cat's den. "How is Cherrypaw is she ok did you get here in time?" But as soon as she breathed in the air she knew the answer to her question. She bowed her head. "You couldn't save her? Even with your powers?" Tears streamed down her face. She had thought of Cherrypaw as her daughter almost. And had done everything she could to save her when she found her. "Cherrypaw will be missed we will sit vigil for her tonight."
