Cherrypaw padded over to a clump of poppy seeds. She gently bit the bulb off and added it to her pile of hers. She had Tansy, Burdock root, and Marigold as well. She grabbed them gently and started to head back to camp. Jayfeather would be proud of her. He had bean training her for two moons. Since about the time Alusia became pregnant. The pups where only a few days old. Fogkit was still very week. She was worried she may not make it.
About halfway back to camp she heard the thundering of footsteps. She set the herbs down and sniffed the air. Her pelt bristled with alarm. "Dogs," she whispered. Leaving behind the herbs she took off trying to think of what to do. She was terrified. She was still a ways away from camp and all by herself. She prayed to starclan for help. She ran for a tree hoping to get up in time.
Aqua was pounding through the forest. She had killed a rabbit and a squirrel but she still felt energized and wanted to continue her hunt. Her owner was back at the camp site. She had gotten lose. As she reached a tall tree she stopped and sniffed the area. CAT. She began barking and chased after the scent. She was quickly catching up with the cat who was running. Saliva was dripping from her mouth and landing on the leaves on the ground. She was almost to the cat when it went for a tree. She picked up her speed and clamped her teeth around the tail before it got out of her reach. She was pleased to hear the yowl of pain and tugged the cat down from the tree.

Atkina heard a dog barking not close from where she was and sprinted towards the sound, recognizing that bark. It was Aqua, a dog she had met in the forest once or twice. Once she reached her friend, plumed tail wagging, she noticed that Aqua had a cat's tail in her grip. She barked, "Oh, cat! How did you catch it, Aqua?" She had never caught a cat before, they were faster than her. She looked up to the German Shepherd, she was older and had far more experience. She didn't have to worry about going back, her girl wasn't going to call her for a while.

Cherrypaw unsheathed her claws and started clawing at it with everything she had. She heard the two dogs talk and shivered with fear. This was not going to end good.
Aqua pressed her paw down hard on the cat so it couldn't escape. "Hey Atkina, it was climbing a tree it didn't get it's tail in fast enough. This going going to be fun. There might be more cat's around here. Want to help me track them down? After I shred this one of course." She yelped in pain as the cat started clawing at his leg. Growling angrily she grabbed the cat and shook her. She could feel the fur tear a little.
Dusk was out hunting with Snowfeather. He had just killed a rabbit when the scent of dog and blood reached him. Fear quickly filled him. "Snowfeather do you smell that," he called behind him.

Atkina smiled, "Lucky you, not so good for her." She looked around, "I'd love to help you!" She thought that the cats would run, they most often did. She looked down at the cat, who was now clawing at Aqua, "We can shred you long before you get to us with those short things you call claws, you know."
Snowfeather lifted her nose into the air and hissed, eyes growing wide, "Cherrypaw's hurt!" She turned and ran towards the smell, ready to defend her clan mate, leaving Dusk there with his rabbit. When she got to the dogs, she slowed, then leapt up onto the back of the dog that was pinning Cherrypaw down.

Dusk grabbed the rabbit and took off after her. He was hoping they would get distracted by the rabbit. When he saw them he threw it and it landed with a thump by the dog clawing Cherrypaw. He than lept on the back of the other dog. "Leave our friend alone," he yowled angrily.
Aqua jumped in shock when Snowfeather jumped on her back. As she did so she let go of Cherrypaw. She rolled over trying to know Snowfeather off of her.
Cherrypaw was filled with relief when Dusk and Snowfeather came to her rescue. She was pretty cut up but she joined in the fight. She slid under Atkina to rake her belly.

Atkina yelped as another cat came out of the woods and jumped onto her shoulders. She didn't like this. Since when did cats fight back? She looked at Aqua, who was fighting another cat, and didn't notice until it was too late that another cat under her. It was the one that Aqua had been holding down, now freed. Atkina yelped again, in pain and fright, then raced towards a low hanging branch, hoping to get rid of her unwanted passengers.
Snowfeather noticed that the dog was going to try to roll her off and jumped to the side, claws unsheathed and ready fora blow.

Aqua felt the cat on top jump off and she continued to roll. But she also felt a cat under her. Jumping up she ran at the cat. Rage filled her. No stupid cat was going to get the pest of her. Her fangs gleam in the sun's rays. Her pelt was stained in blood. Both hers and Cherrypaw's.
Dusk was busy tearing at the cat and didn't see them till it was to late. They raked against his pelt and swung him off. He landed hard on the ground. Getting up he shook his head a little dazed.

Snowfeather hissed in amusement as the dog lumbered towards her, "You can't get me, mouse brain." She leapt into the air, using the trick that Alusia had used on her during their practice bout. She landed on the dog's white back and sunk her claws in. Both her and the dog's pelts were stained red by now, the blood visible on the light coloring.
Atkina smiled as the cat on her back was slung off by the branches she had run underneath. She turned and raced back to the fallen cat, grabbing his fur in her jaws.

Cherrypaw raced up as one of the dogs grabbed Dusk. "Let him go you stupid Fox Hearted dog." She sunk her teeth into her leg and grabbed on real tight.
Dusk felt himself being picked up. He did his best to claw at Atkina. Hissing he aimed a strike at the dogs nose hoping to get it.
Aqua thought quickly and threw herself at a tree. if she aimed right she would smash the cat between her and the tree. She was a dog true but she wasn't stupid as most cat's thought they where. She was planning everything out in her head.

Atkina yelped again and again. She didn't like these cats, they didn't run, they fought back! For all her bravado, she really didn't like cats, they scared her if they stood their ground. When she had been young, a cat used to fight her into the corner. Luckily, the cat was given away, but the scars remained. She let go of the black cat and swung around to grab the smaller cat.
Snowfeather yowled as thedog she was on ran towards a tree. She felt the dog running, but didn't notice the point until it hit her in the head. Sh e was flung into the forest, where she lay, dazed and slipping in and out of consciousness.

Cherrypaw was growing tired. She had lost allot of blood already. She knew she wouldn't be able to keep things up much longer. Feeling teeth clamp on her again she whimpered softly and tried to fight back but was growing to week.
Dusk ran up to the dog and scored his claws against Aqua's muzzle. When she started chasing him he started running towards Atkina. He dashed under her stomach hoping the two would collide.
Aqua took off after Dusk angrily. She hadn't even seen Atkina until the last second. She knew she wouldn't be able to stop in time.

Atkina ripped the cat off of her leg with a twist of her head and flung her into the forest, hoping that the cat would be stunned until she could go back to find her. Just then, Dusk rushed under her stomach and Atkina turned to look at him and felt Aqua run right by her, their fur touching. She watched the dog run past her, wondering why she would run by so close to her. Then she took after the dark cat and her friend, baying as loud as she could. Now the cat was running, not fighting, so it wasn't any danger.

Cherrypaw lay still to tired and hurt to move any more. She was fading in and out of consciousness. She was starting to think they wouldn't survive this when she heard a yowl from behind her.
Dovefeather lept over Cherrypaw and raced at Aqua. She scored her claws at the dogs eyes and muzzle. She stood on her hind legs scoring her claws one after the other on the dog.
Aqua heard the yowl and stopped chasing the dark cat. Turning to look where it came from a cat came from out of no where and attacked her. It's claws sliced at her over and over. She tried to snap at her and swipe her paw at her. But the cat would just dodge her. She was growing angry. Instead of going backwards she jumped forward and pinned the cat down angrily. She bit at it's neck.
Dusk stopped and turned back scoring his claws against Aquas hind coders to get it off of Dovefeather. He grabbed her tail and bit down hard until he felt the bone.

Atkina slid to a stop as she heard another cat yowl. The two cats that were still able to fight were both attacking Aqua, while Atkina hurried to get close enough to her friend to help her out. Once she reached the battling creatures, she grabbed the dark cat that had bitten down on Aqua's tail. His teeth were in pretty deeply, so Atkina had to pull hard to get him to release his grip. She knew it would hurt her friend, she saw the blood welling up as soon as the teeth were gone, but she couldn't leave him hanging on like a burr. She shook her massive head once, smacking the cat against a tree.

Dusk felt the other dog grab him he yowled in pain and tried kicking her off. He saw the tree coming but didn't have enough time to react. His head was smacked against it really hard knocking him out.
Dovefeather yowled angrily, once Aqua let her go she went back to attacking paw swipe after paw swipe until Aqua began backing up again. Every time Aqua tried the trick again she slid under her belly and raked her claws against it.
Aqua whimpered and turned tail taking off. She was soar and blood ridden. She didn't want to fight any more. When did cats start fighting back? She would have to plan out her next attack better.
Cherrypaw had stumbled to her paws and watched as Dovefeather attacked and attacked she couldn't believe it she was so strong. She gave her the power to continue. She ran at the other dog that still hung around and raked her claws across it's eyes and nipped it's leg hard. "Get lost you fox hearted beast." She yowled angrily.
